After losing her dream of being a ballerina, Claire only has her boyfriend left, and the new opportunity to be a flight stewardess.
After Nathan’s girlfriend broke his heart, he forgot about romance and dove headfirst into his career as a commercial airline pilot.
Neither of them are available.
Neither of them are interested.
But when their paths keep crossing, they can’t help but wonder if maybe their plans are about to make an unexpected stop…
A special thanks to Kregel Publishing for sending me an advanced paperback copy of this book. I was not required to leave a positive review.
⭐⭐⭐✨ (3.5/5 stars)
Now, that was a refreshingly cute romcom to read! Definitely made me walk away smiling– and knowing a thing or two more about airlines than I did when I started the book. Honestly, I think this was one of those stories that was a lot better because the author had personal experience in this field, and I think it added an extra layer of depth to this story.
Claire and Nathan were both quite sweet to each other, and I appreciated that. The fact that they were both supportive of each other definitely seemed like a healthy start, and I was happy to see things working out for them toward the end. There were so many cute moments that made me smile, and I loved how they were able to travel so much together, and we really saw them in a variety of different situations, which was fun.
My only real problem with their relationship was… she’s engaged.
For, like, three quarters of the book.
So, even though they’re “just friends”, I still felt like there was some emotional cheating going on there, because they definitely seemed very attracted to each other, and I just wish we could have ended her engagement a little sooner so it wouldn’t have seemed quite so frustrating, if that makes any sense.
[OTHER THOUGHTS]
All in all, a very enjoyable romcom. There were a few– shall we say– bizarre side characters backstories and side plots, but I’m assuming we’ll be learning more about them in future books, so maybe then it won’t seem quite so far-fetched. We will see!
Content-wise, this was a clean adult romance. There were mentions of cheating on, and some mentions of violence and self-defense, but it felt very clean and fine for adult readers. Definitely a fun book to enjoy, and I can’t imagine how much fun it would be to read this book while on a flight!
So, yes, this book is releasing today, and if you’re ready to soar off on a rom-com adventure that will make you smile and chuckle, I would definitely recommend giving this one a shot, because I actually really enjoyed it!!!
