When a journalist finds herself stranded in a small seaside town, she happens upon a story waiting to be written… and a man she just might fall in love with.
But he’s a single father trying to get by as a firefighter after his wife’s tragic death, and he’s not sure he’s ready to open up to anyone yet… but he can’t help but think about the new journalist in town.
And when she decides to help him with the town’s annual festival, he finds himself spending more time with her… and wondering if his heart may be able to love again.

⭐⭐⭐✨ (3.5/5 stars)
That was fun.
I didn’t really know much about this book going into it (except there’s a lighthouse on the cover and in the title!), but I actually enjoyed this one a fair bit. The characters were fun, the romance was a very nice widowed father and journalist kind of dynamic, and overall, it was just a good time. I will admit that it did seem slightly short on plot or conflict, so it ended up seeming a little forced at times, but I still thought it was a very cute story.
Part of me does feel like from the first second they looked at each other, they should have just realized where this was headed. Every time they were together they just seemed to fall harder and harder, which was sweet, but they could have saved each other a lot of anxiety by just admitting their feelings from the beginning.
Oh, and Piper? She was just so adorable.
Anyway, this was an enjoyable romance with a fun seaside setting and lots of small-town charm as they prepare for their festival and work to fix up their lighthouse. Honestly, I thought that it was a very sweet read, and I enjoyed the fact it was set as winter turned to spring, because I really did feel like this one would be good to read about that time.
Plus, there was George.
If you know, you know.
All in all, this was such a fun read from Amy Clipston. I missed the stronger faith content I love in some of her other books, however, I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who needs a fun romance that would be enjoyable and sweet. It was very clean, although I will leave a trigger warning to those who have lost loved ones in accidents, as our main hero lost his wife in a car accident and has some trauma and recalling throughout the story. As far as romance goes, there was some noticing and kisses, but nothing more than that.
So, yes, this would be a very fun one to read– especially as winter thaws into spring this year. I was very happy to be able to read another book from this author who really is a favorite of mine.
