⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 stars)

I was sold with the premise alone. “A sweet regency rom-com.” I mean, that combines so many of my favorite tropes and genres… I knew I needed to read this book PRONTO. And, when my mom and I started it as a buddy-read, I knew I had found a new favorite. Because this book… this book, y’all!!

Honestly, I’m a huge sucker for a rom-com. Give me a story with banter and witty dialogue, swoony kisses, and slightly ridiculous situations that make you chuckle… yes! Yes, please. I need more rom-coms in my life, and I will attest to that until the end of time. But, my other weakness in fiction is my love for regency stories. I mean, I grew up on Pride and Prejudice, and we all know how girls like that end up, right?

So, I was a little nervous going into this story, because I felt like a fusion of the two genres was too good to be true.

It wasn’t.

Our main characters were delightful. Truly, enemies-to-more at it’s best. There were several moments that really reminded me of Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, so if you enjoyed that kind of romance, then you should definitely give this one a try. Honestly, it was really fun, and we all know what a sucker I am for enemies-to-more.

The story was really fun, and definitely had me turning pages– I paced myself because I didn’t want it to be over too quickly– so that’s always what I’m looking for in a read like this. The side characters were entertaining, and definitely intrigued me as far as future books in the series.

Honestly, the plot for this book was just ridiculous enough to be perfect. (Let me say that when I use the word “ridiculous” in this context, it is an immense compliment. To me, no story will ever make me smile if it is predictable and boring. No matter how “plausible” or “likely” the events are. No, I need a story that is just outrageous enough to make me giggle.)

This book was very clean– there were some kisses that bordered on my comfort level, but nothing more. Language-wise, it was very clean, and overall, I think this author may become a new favorite of mine. This story was delightful, and I would definitely recommend it to any girl who loved Pride and Prejudice but also loves to watch rom-coms.

This story is available on Kindle Unlimited (as well as the rest of the series), and it was just so entertaining. I definitely plan on getting my own copy at some point, because I absolutely loved it, and the enemies-to-more romance… AAH! It was just too good, honestly. Please check this one out to see if it could be your new favorite, too.

I’m Keira Anne (with an E)

Welcome to my little corner of this great big world wide web– which feels a little scary to type out. Since I’m here, that means I am not reading, which is actually pretty crazy. Now that we’ve acknowledged that anomaly, however, I will go back to reading. Feel free to join me as we discover a world of books!
